We would
like to introduce ourselves into the biketrial world as serious manufactures of
biketrial componentry:
It is with
great pleasure that I introduce Tin and Le Hua and Myself, Chris Russ as the men behind
the new trials Brand : " TNN "
Q/ Who are
we and why should anyone listen?
Chris
Russ :- Ever Wondered what the "CR" in "CRM"
stood for in the
Plazmatic pads ? They are my
initials. All “original” CRM
& PMG pads manufactured came from my workshop in Brisbane, Australia,
but were sold and distributed under the Plazmatic Logo.
A quick
history:
After
making Tim's acquaintance in 97 through a bike purchase I was impressed by the rare Citric
acid pads but not by the magura reds I had on the front brake. I
thought I could personally do much better than the Magura’s or the
industry standard at the time (Monty). After some prototyping and
testing via Tim and test riders in the USA, Plazmatic pads got into full
swing.
10 years
later we are ready for a new generation of rim brake pads.
Q/ What is
our technical ability?
The CRM material and PMG material were developed here
in Australia
through in house and rider
testing. Final Testing was done by
Tim. All in house testing was done on a custom built brake test machine made by myself.
Tim had this machine displayed on his PlazmaticBrakes website as "Big
Murdoch".
All pad
moulds and machinery to process the pads were also developed specially for the
job.
Computer
Stress analysis techniques will be used, for example, the Plazmatic Aluminium disc rotors. This method will be implemented on future
products to ensure the optimum design.
Q/ Who are
TNN?
TNN are
a successful family owned
and run engineering company in
Brisbane, Australia who have been making engineering components for 14 years
and are well respected - http://tnnengineering.com/index2.html . Their equipment
includes a newly commissioned, state of the art Mazak multi tasking machine
capable of machining hubs (and more) with ease.
TNN is run
by Tin and Le Hua. Le is a trials rider of 12 years with a passion for trials and developing
componentry for the highest demands of
the sport.
Q/ What about
the Plazmatic Name?
Whilst the product name will be known as " TNN " the Plazmatic name will continue to be used by
Tim. This will reduce any confusion between products in the future. I will however reference Plazmatic to make
people aware of my past connection.
Q/ So what
are TNN going to make?
The plan
is to produce high end bike trial components. I will contribute 10 years
experience making plazmatic pads, rotors etc, Le and Tin can add
technical expertise and manufacture capability. We are starting with
brake pads, but plan to offer a host of components – Middleburn Integrated
bashring, Brake Boosters, chain tensioner’s, and on the books is an "instant
engagement" hub, so stay tuned.
