We will receive in material in standard lengths which is easier to transport and generally a cheaper way to purchase material. Once loaded onto the saw, the material is clamped and cut before being accurately positioned for the next cut. The length is accurate to within a third of a millimetre and is very consistent and repeatable. This is important for CNC machining where issues can arise due to variation in stock material lengths and sizes.
It is generally the first process in the manufacturing process but saw cutting can also be used as a secondary operation to remove material. This saves machining time and tooling costs.
