Accessing Supply Opportunities – Queensland Major Projects Sector

There has been a lot of news in the media about the large investment boom and how we are reaching the peak of capital spending. This should mean that there would be a lot of work and activity in the market place. However, a lot of business are experiencing very patchy conditions and are struggling to find enough work.

There are billions of dollars worth of projects but the EPCM’s (engineering procurement and construction management) are looking overseas due to the perceived lack of capability and capacity in the domestic marketplace.

The Queensland Government is encouraging and assisting business to access work in Major Projects.  The government is assisting companies to

  • Identify what opportunities are available
  • Assist companies to apply for tenders and opportunities
  • Assist in forming Joint Ventures that can handle larger projects
A very useful tool for accessing Major Projects is the ICN Gateway. ICN stands for the Industry Capability Network. It is a free service that connects EPCMs with suppliers.
While TNN Engineering currently does not have the capacity to successfully tender for even the very smallest of projects (2.5m – 20m), we are focused on extending the capacity and capability of our customers so they can win more project work.
