Multi-function metal working machines are used to efficiently cut, crop, punch and bend steel. It is mainly used to process flat steel sections but can also accommodate angle, rounds, and square sections. This versatile machine is used to cut material to length, punch holes and slots and shape material.
At the heart of the machine is a cropping blade which is essentially a large set of scissors. It can cut steel sections up to 20mm thick. By using a stop, material can be cut to length, quickly and accurately. Unlike saw cutting, cropping does not cut away and waste any material. There are specially shaped cutter for cropping angle and round bar.
Holes and slots can be punched into steel sections. Punching is much quicker than drilling or milling but is limited to thinner sections. We can punch materials up to 16mm thick. As a general rule the size of the hole cannot be smaller than the thickness of the material being punched.
This machine can also be used to notch and cut basic shapes and chamfers. For more complicated shapes, laser cutting, or profile cutting is preferred.
